Case Study 1
From On-Premise to Cloud - 30% Cost
Reduction in Year One

We migrated a client's entire on-premise data center across the USA and China to AWS and Alibaba Cloud - with minimal downtime, full data integrity, and Kubernetes at the core
The Challenge
Our client was running ageing on-premise infrastructure across two regions - USA and China. The problems were compounding:
- High maintenance and operational costs
- No ability to scale during seasonal demand spikes
- Poor disaster recovery - single points of failure
- Slow feature delivery - infrastructure was blocking growth
They needed to move to cloud. The catch: operations had to keep running during migration.
Assessment first. We mapped every workload, dependency, and data flow before touching anything. We evaluated both AWS and Alibaba Cloud cost models and identified cloud-agnostic tooling for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Kubernetes at the centre. To stay cloud-agnostic - not locked into one provider - we containerised every application and orchestrated workloads via Kubernetes. Same cluster config, deployable anywhere.
Shared VPC strategy. We designed a centralised AWS Shared VPC architecture across multiple accounts - one account owns the network, others deploy into it. This cut network provisioning time by 40% and enforced consistent security policies across all teams.
Phased migration, no big bang. We migrated dev and test environments first, validated everything, then production. Traffic was redirected via DNS. Critical data was migrated using AWS DMS during planned low-traffic windows - data integrity maintained throughout.
Post-migration hardening. Lambda for serverless workloads, RDS for managed databases, AWS Shield and IAM policies for security, Global Accelerator and CDN for performance. Kubecost for ongoing cost monitoring.
Outcome & Result
IT operational costs
↓ 30% in year one
Optimized cloud infrastructure and reduced dependency on physical hardware led to significant cost savings within the first year.
Network Provisioning
Time ↓ 40%
Automated network setup and centralized architecture drastically reduced setup and configuration time.
Disaster Recovery
Significantly Improved
Multi-region deployment enhanced RTO and RPO, ensuring faster recovery and minimal data loss.
Scalability -
Fully Dynamic
Infrastructure now scales automatically based on demand, eliminating the need for manual capacity planning.
Deployment Speed -
Accelerated Delivery
CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes enabled faster, more reliable feature releases with minimal downtime.
